Timothy’s Story
28 month old Timothy Hamilton of Tanilba Bay was born with a congenital heart defect – Fallow’s Tetralogy – which was diagnosed at 10 days, after a heart murmur was detected at 5 days.

A Shunt was performed at 10 weeks, to relieve the acute stress on a very narrow pulmonary artery which was causing some cyanosis in the baby boy particularly when anxious or distressed.
Open Heart Surgery was subsequently performed at 10 months to repair his faulty valve and to create a septum ( the dividing wall between right and left sides of the heart . The valve will require replacement, possibly in his early 20’s.
Parents, Sue and Robert, are delighted with Timothy’s progress, which continues to be monitored by his doctors, and anticipate a more healthy childhood for their little son.
